Most issues are fixed by a fresh load. Try the steps below in order — they resolve more than 90% of reports we receive.
Step 1 — Hard refresh the page
- Windows / Linux: Press Ctrl + Shift + R.
- Mac: Press Cmd + Shift + R.
Step 2 — Sign out and back in
Open the user menu in the sidebar, click Sign out, then sign back in. This refreshes your session token and fixes most "Something went wrong" errors.
Step 3 — Try a different browser
LivingChat works best on the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. If a feature works in another browser, the issue is browser-specific (often a corrupted cache or a misbehaving extension).
Step 4 — Disable extensions
Ad blockers and privacy extensions sometimes block parts of the chat. Try the page in an incognito window or with extensions disabled. The most common culprits are uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, and Ghostery.
Common error messages
- "Subscription required": You hit the free message limit. Upgrade to continue.
- "Model unavailable": The underlying provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI) is temporarily down. Try a different model from the model selector.
- "Rate limited": You sent messages too quickly. Wait 30 seconds and try again.
